Effective Changes and Impact on learning

‘What has been an effective change in my practice this term and what impact has it had on learning?

The students are learning how to use apps and extensions as learning tools to assist and facilitate their learning needs independently. If I lay the foundations right from the beginning, with modeling and scaffolding etc, I have then been able to pull back and facilitate, rather than enabling and creating a system that is dependent on me. GIving these tools allows students the independence and opportunity to make learning their own. To gain take ownership of their learning comes with teaching the students values such as responsibility, perseverance, and ownership which is an understanding only gained through experience, encouragement and being provided with the learning environment in which they feel safe to pursue and develop their understanding.
