Promoting Conversations, Working Together and High Expectations.

Promoting Discussion, Questioning, Collaboration and having High Expectations.

This is my class at the school I was at before Te Kura. They are year 3 and 4. (7 and 8 years old)
These videos show how I try to incorporate in lessons and reflect on my practice, what I have learned from professional readings and development. I try to foster an environment that is inclusive, collaborative, student-led, have high expectations, use questioning techniques that promote problem solvers and higher-order thinking, provide lessons that are engaging and interesting, utilising technology where appropriate.

These students are all 7 - 8 years old.

App Smashing with Brushes and Explain Everything to explain a Science concept - Great to capture authentic voice.

Using Pic Collage to present work.

App Smashing Pic Collage and iMovie to share the story they wrote. The focus was on the show not tell.

Collaborative Problem Solving

Using real-life context to learn about financial literacy. Giving learning about money a topic that the age group can relate to and is relevant. The lesson is hands-on and promotes discussion and has more than 1 way to solve the problem. It also covers a range of Number and Strand maths.
